I don’t know why but I woke up this morning and saw a wee bit of snow then out of nowhere all I could think of was getting a M818 6x6 5 ton military truck.
I mean how badass would this be? cruising in the woods in a huge 6x6.

Cruising in the woods? LOL You could cruise through just about anything.
...Wait...someone needs to make a M818 Lemons happen.

If you’re feeling daring, last I checked you could pick them up for $5k or less off of gov’t auction sites. Sure, you have to buy them sight unseen and without a real idea of any sort of condition, buuuuuuuuuuuuut imagine how much easier driving in traffic will be.

Should be good for parking over the curb.

I really want to buy one and do this
I love these bobbed military trucks

There’s an acreage I drive by every day whose owner routinely has an M939 5-ton and a Ford Raptor parked out front. I’m so jealous of whatever fun things he or she does with those things.

Would you consider a Reynolds Boughton RB44 ‘Arbee’ instead?
This is my current want. I just need someone else to ‘test the waters’ first.

What is it? it looks like a dodge van with a bed and 4x4. what does it have for a motor?

Those bobbed ones are INSANELY cool. I’d just be afraid that 4x4 in a truck this heavy wouldn’t be nearly as good as a 6x6.
But if we are going strictly off of looks the 4x4 looks way better than the 6x6 and would be easier to drive as well.

It’s not irrational at all

I know this is definitely not helping. I love old military trucks. I just need to find that same type of auction for Canada and I’d probably buy one.

good times over there for sure.

Yep, Dodge/Renault 50 series with 4x4 and a 4ltr Perkins diesel producing a whopping 110hp!

true, but even if i ever have the means to do this i don’t know how often it would actually see a dirt road (there aren’t many around me) so I’d be going mostly for looks

LeMons unfortunately has a curb weight limit. They’d probably waive it for some things, but this? Probably not.

Yep, that is a huge irrational want for me too!

Man look what $7500 will get you. AND you can test drive this one!

You have issues. Not judging you or anything, but yeah...issues.

Read Steve Lehto’s article from last year on owning a Military truck:

Now I want one even more.

I too want one.

You could cruise in, on or through just abut anything you want to in that. It is not an irrational want.
